In September 2015, Mayor Galvin and the City Council committed to supporting the project but also looked to the Library Trustees and its supporting organizations to assume some of the costs involved.  Grants have been secured and other possible sources will also contribute to the goal, however, our library still needs support from the community to complete the project.

On Monday, September 14, 2015 the Woburn City Council voted to approve the $31.5 million bond authorization brought forth by Mayor Scott Galvin to renovate and expand the Woburn Public Library.

Currently, we are in the contract phase with the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Design & Development Phase

Design & Development Phase

Once all the contracts are signed and certified, which will take approximately one month, we will enter into the design development phase. This phase involves working closely with CBT, our architects, for about one year to hone the schematic design into plans that can be used by the to-be-determined contractor.
